Supported Employment helps an adult with a disability find a job, learn it, and keep it. Mirrah Image Services is an official partner of the Florida Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, and we also provide Self Employment Support through VR for people who want to run something of their own.

How it works

• Working out what someone is actually good at and actually wants, which is not always what is on paper
• Finding employers in Lake County who are open to it, and preparing both sides properly
• Job coaching on site while they learn the work
• Stepping back gradually as they get confident, and coming back if something changes
• Self employment support for people building their own small business

Will working affect their benefits?

This is the first question almost every family asks, and the fear of losing benefits stops a lot of capable people from ever trying. The short answer is that working usually leaves someone better off, and the rules are designed to allow it. We have a free SSI and work calculatoron this site so you can see the numbers for your own situation before anyone commits to anything.

Where we serve

Mirrah Image Services supports families across Lake, Orange, Sumter and Marion counties, including Leesburg, Eustis, Tavares, Mount Dora, Fruitland Park and the surrounding towns.

How it is paid for

This is a Florida Medicaid Waiver service, funded through the Agency for Persons with Disabilities. If your loved one is not on the waiver yet, start with our plain words guide to the APD waiting list, or come to our free application class. If you do not qualify for the waiver and paying privately is a genuine hardship, ask us about hardship assistance.
